Weekend trip to London!!

Oh my God, I was in London...I've been dreaming of this place all my life and finally I made it on my B'Day, what a treat it was for me :D. London is a rocking place all day & night, though nights are scary.
I entered Madame Tussad's Wax Museum to find it to be an enchanting wonderland I've ever seen. Statues were really worth the hype they get all over in the media. I was bewildered on seeing JLo to be so small, but uummm sexy stuffs comes in small packages ;) History of England was well preserved by Tussad's Society. I had a ride of England's heritage black cab and watched evolution of England since Queens Rule.
I dunno how much space UK dedicate to parks and natural beauty, its an autumn time for these ppl, but ooooh I'm freezing; temp is 10 degree and they say it autumn!! I went into a park, dunno da name, and it was well-formed and pleasing to lay down with...anyone but I was alone, sad isnt it. Ducks, swans and piegeons added the charm to the inviting look of the pond in the park. Near to park was well known Buckingham Palace, it looked small when compared to grandeurs of Palaces of India. But I liked the stone statue in front of it, English ppl use various forms of stones and materials which keeps a long lasting impression on every individuals' memory.
Yes I was hungry by now, and I was suppose to meet Smita at Piccadili Circus.
At Piccadili Circus, I saw the real London as I always dreamt of to be; busy, crowded, diversity, glamour and fashion. First thing I did was to make arrangements for night stay and then hastly ran everywhere looking for some flowers or something to give Smita but managed to get some choclates, u never get something u looking for at the time of need, y the hell murphys' law works everytime.
We looked for Indian Restraunt desperatly for 45min and then out of frustation and hunger we landed in some Italian Restraunt. Readitng at the menu, we figured out nuthing, y does every menu card in UK look so wierd and hard to understand, after some 15min we ordered our food and after some 10min the connoisseur served the food and uuummm it smelled good. Sitting with a lady I didn't want to show her how wild I can be on tables; so I displayed my table manners using all provided cutlery :D and ate barely 2 slices of pizza, ofcourse I left the restraunt with half filled stomach. But talking to Smita was really nice, it has been ages when I met her last in school days. We discussed school days, which was so fun and I think that those are the best days of everones' life. I think even in 2yrs of stay at RKC I wud have not talked to her for that long, quite strange isnt it, but life and world are so small that u find urself to be in the same place meeting the same ppl, its just the circumstances that changes. After dinner she left and I was left bewitched by the nights and lights of London. Though I didn't enjoyed the night life but it was a wonderful day for me, after all it was my B'day!!
Next Day I went to another well known landmark London Bridge, again Howrah Bridge fascinated me more; watt can I do if India have better landmarks its just the hype that it doesnt get from the media. But the trail to Howrah Bridge was beautiful, if you want to see the real London walk the streets of London and you will see the well preserved heritage of London, it captivated me completely.
I took the bus to London Eye, its an architectural marvel, brain child of Tony Blair, I admired the cables and breaking style using tyres and thick rubber rings more than the actual view from top, some 100ft high. Sightseeing was over and now was the time to shop...I wanted to buy only one thing; a cap which Saluja bought during his internship time, I always tried to take that cap away from Saluja which he never liked :D. Finally I got it after looking in some 10 shops and 30min. I paid 15pounds!! Woww it look so beautiful better than his :P bas apni to shopping ho gayi...ab kuch indian khana khayaa jaaye...went to an Indian restraunt pel ke khana khaya and majaa aagyaa tha. Ab kuch karne ko to tha nahin to hum Hyde Park mein jaa ke bethe and wahaan pe dance on skates dekh rahe the, amazing tha...
So here comes the end of long weekend trip to London!! I'm dying to go to go there again to njoi the night life ;)
London Rocksss!!

First Journey to Firang Land :)

1st Sep ‘06
Mumbai – Heathrow: 782H BMI
Heathrow – Belfast City: 82S BMI

I will start from Mumbai Sahar Airport. It was really painful to depart from my parents, last time I felt so was when they left me in boarding school around 10yrs ago. I just held my tears not to let mummy notice it else she would stated pouring. One thing I regret is not been able to meet Sarvee and Saurabh properly, though Saurabh will never forget that night in platform :P
I stood in my very long queue to BMI chech-in counter. While standing I saw Classic Regular carton but my morale stopped me to regret it later, cigarettes out here are very expensive, but baaki sab nahi mile to chalega but suttee ke bina nahin rahega :D, and here I found my new love in Benson & Hedges. After 2hrs I managed to check-in after paying 11k for my extra luggage!!
Everyone was asking me about my first Airbus experience, I should say it was bad. I would protest to limit the age of airhostess to 30. I think one doesn’t expect the Airbus seats to be small as Jet Airways ones’.
I changed my flight at London Airport, its so huge that it took my 20 min to reach check-in counter by walking on conveyer belt. I managed to enter the flight. They didn’t serve anything and I paid £3 for a 60pence sandwich.
I reached safely at Belfast City and enjoyed ogling at Irish samples in the flight. But when bad time comes it doesn’t pass away easily. I waited to collect my baggage and found that it hasn’t arrived yet and airport people don’t know when can I expect to have it. And I said to myself Welcome to Belfast.
I went to my apartment and then to office in Audi :P. My HR Manager, Paul, invited us to his farewell party. We along with Paul were flocked with Irish gals, Irish gals are crazy, free spirits and yes beautiful. They know how to groom themselves, even kids are always well dressed up with make-up kit in their school bag!!
Everyone was supposed to pay for themselves in the party, we don’t have such kindda party in India. A new person in a new country is not expected to pay for his first drink but I think for the second he has to :(( I was ready for the second culture shock of my life, first was in B’lore where I saw gals wearing revealing clothes and hobnobbing.
Meanwhile I got a call from Airport that my baggage has arrived. But jiski kismet khoti ho who kya kar sakta hai. If my baggage would have been delayed by another 3hrs then I would have received Rs4500 from insurance company.
Temperature was around 20 degrees and it was like heat wave for people out here. I went to bed early after having good kick from Irish beers.
So, I managed to reach Belfast without worries though with lot of hassles. Still thinking was something not allowing me to leave India, many know why am I thinking so.
After a month missing India :*
